Archiving threads

Last updated: 26/11/2024

Introduced with Threaditor 9, you can organise your homepage by archiving old threads. Archived threads will be moved to their own tab on the homepage ("Archived"), and will not be editable unless they are restored. Threads can be manually archived in the editor or on the homepage, or automatically in the settings.

Manually archive your threads

You can manually archive your threads in the editor or on the homepage:

  • Editor: select the "Archive thread" button from the list of icon buttons in the top-left of the page. On mobile, this will be hidden behind the "three dots" icon.

  • Homepage: threads can be edited in bulk by selecting on one or more thread, then selecting the "Archive threads" button in the toolbar that appears.

Setup automatic archival

Threaditor can automatically archive posts that were published a while ago, keeping your homepage cleaned up for you. This is turned off by default, but can be turned on in Settings > General:

  1. Travel to Settings > General > Thread archiving

  2. From the "Automatically archive" dropdown, select the option that best suits you.

If you ever want to turn off automatic archival, simply select "Never" from the dropdown list.

Restoring your threads

If you ever want to edit your thread, it can be restored manually either in the editor or on the homepage:

  • Editor: a banner will appear at the top of the page notifying you of the archived state of your thread. Click or tap the "Restore" button to restore your thread and make it editable again.

  • Homepage: restore your threads in bulk by selecting one or more threads, then clicking or tapping the "Restore" button from the toolbar that appears.
