Publishing & scheduling
Last updated: 30/09/2024
Once your thread is completed, you'll want to publish it now or schedule it to be published later. Threaditor provides tools to do both, and these can be accessed using the "Publish" button in the top-right of the editor.
When you open the publish menu, you'll have the option to select from any of the accounts and groups you have been writing for. Additionally, you can manually share content to Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and elsewhere using the "Share elsewhere" button down the bottom.
Pre-publish checks
Once you have selected the accounts and groups you want to publish, you'll be taken to the pre-publish check screen. Most of the time, this should tell you that your thread is ready to publish, but if Threaditor detects any errors or warnings, then it will tell you here.
Errors and warnings will be grouped by the account and group they affect, and may entirely stop you from being able to publish your post before you fix them.
This screen will update in real-time, so you can make changes with the publish menu open and see if the errors and warnings are resolved.
Scheduling content
With any errors or warnings resolved, you'll be taken to the schedule menu. It's here that you can schedule the publish of your thread, or skip this step to publish immediately. Times will be in accordance with your current time zone, so you don't need to worry about time zone conversion.
Your thread must be scheduled for at least 10 minutes in the future, and can be published as far into the future as you want - you could schedule a thread for publish in 2100, but we make no guarantee that Threaditor and your platform of choice will be available that far in the future.
Once your content is scheduled, it will be visible in the schedule menu. This can be accessed from within the publish menu (Publish > View scheduled), or by clicking on the schedule time on the thread in the home page. Schedule times can be edited or removed entirely once they have been set, and you can edit the content of your thread prior to it publishing.
Threaditor will attempt to publish your content at the time you have scheduled it to, but this may also take ~30 seconds, so will not appear immediately. If Threaditor encounters any issues in this process, you will be able to see it in the schedule menu.
Publishing immediately
If you choose to publish your thread immediately, it will be uploaded and shared to your chosen accounts. This process can take around 30 seconds, depending on the size of your thread. Once your content is published, you will be able to see it live by clicking or tapping the account or group button, and can access it later from within the publish menu using Publish > View published.
If Threaditor encounters any issues while publishing your thread, it will tell you here. Consider making any necessary changes to your thread and/or trying again shortly.
